Tier-one lender, Fidelity Bank Plc, has reaffirmed its leadership in the diaspora banking sector with the successful hosting of the Fidelity Diaspora Summit 2026, a global virtual engagement designed to help Nigerians living abroad navigate evolving policies and identify credible opportunities for wealth creation in Nigeria.

The summit held virtually on Saturday, 14 March 2026, and convened Nigerians across key diaspora markets including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.

“Our theme today is, “Navigating the New Tax Policy and Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Nigeria”. This subject is timely, practical, and matters to every Nigerian in the diaspora who earns, saves, owns assets or invests back home.

“It is no news that Nigerians living abroad are our strongest ambassadors. You do much more than remit funds, you carry our reputation, our enterprise, and our potential into boardrooms, hospitals, laboratories, studios, and technology hubs around the world. Many people describe the diaspora as Nigeria’s thirty-seventh state, and the description fits because of your scale and your impact”, remarked the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe,OON, during her welcome address at the webinar.

The summit, which followed a maiden edition held in 2021, featured topical presentations delivered by thought leaders across local and international markets. Delivering the keynote address, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri Erewa, said the role of the diaspora in national development cannot be overemphasised. She noted that diaspora Nigerians contribute across multiple spheres through skills development, investments, intellectual property, and global exposure; and she commended Fidelity Bank for convening the platform.

In another session, the Group Managing Director, Financial Derivatives Limited, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, shared insights on Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook in a presentation titled, “2026 Economic Outlook and Economic Opportunities in Nigeria”. Partner and Leader, Tax and Regulatory Service, PwC, Mr Chijioke Uwaegbute, also provided clarity on the new tax act and its specific implications for Nigerians living abroad.

The second half of the webinar focused on investing in Nigeria and positioning for sustainable returns. Chairman, Tekedia Capital, Prof Ndubuisi Ekekwe, reinforced the need for informed participation supported by credible partners and compliant pathways, as a foundation for diaspora investors seeking durable value across asset classes and sectors in Nigeria. Tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Mr Ike Eze, in a presentation titled, “The Nigeria Tech Playbook, Funding Trends and Exit Strategy”, also offered a market grounded view of the technology investment landscape, and shared frameworks for approaching opportunity in Africa and Nigeria.

The two-hour session concluded with a panel discussion moderated by the event compere and Arise TV business news anchor, Mr. Rotus Oddiri.

In his closing remarks, the Executive Director and Chief Operations and Information Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr Stanley Amuchie, thanked participants and panelists for an engaging summit, and restated the bank’s commitment to banking without borders. He encouraged diaspora customers to explore Fidelity Bank diaspora solutions built for their realities, including diaspora accounts that support seamless cross border banking through multi-currency options, secure authentication, dedicated support, and tools for payments and savings.

For millions of Nigerians, homeownership has long felt like an ambition deferred. Squeezed by rising property prices, persistent double-digit inflation and high commercial lending rates, the dream of owning a home has remained just that – a dream.

But that narrative is quietly changing. Thanks to FirstBank.

The N1 Trillion Intervention Reshaping Access

In partnership with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF), FirstBank has unveiled a mortgage opportunity that could redefine access to housing finance in Nigeria.

Backed by the Federal Government’s N1trillion mortgage fund, the initiative is designed to empower Nigerians with affordable, long-term credit to own their homes.

9.75% Interest Rate in a 30% Lending Environment

MREIF is priced at 9.75% per annum, dramatically lower than prevailing commercial loan rates. Eligible Nigerians can access up to N100 million and repay within 20 years. This translates into significantly more manageable monthly repayments and greater long-term financial stability.

Built for Salary Earners, Entrepreneurs and the Diaspora

The MREIF mortgage facility has been structured to be inclusive. It is available to salary account holders, business owners and diaspora customers. Whether you are a young professional aiming to exit the rent cycle, an entrepreneur building generational stability, or you’re a Nigerian abroad looking to secure assets locally, the product opens a pathway that has historically been out of reach for many.

Taking the First Step

For those who have been waiting for the right time, this is definitely it. The question is no longer whether homeownership is possible. The real question is: will you act before the window narrows?

Visit https://www.firstbanknigeria.com/personal/loans/mreif-home-loan/ and in no time you could be the latest homeowner in town.

For many Nigerians, home ownership has always felt like a long dream parked somewhere between someday and maybe. However, the MREIF Mortgage Loan by FirstBank of Nigeria is quietly changing that narrative.

Here are five things you should know:

Designed for Real People.

This is not a luxury only scheme. It is structured to help middle income earners move from rent payments to ownership with a manageable repayments plan.

2.Single-Digit Interest Is Real (Yes, Really)

At 9.75% per annum, this isn’t your typical Nigerian mortgage with rates that make your eyes water. In a market where double-digit interest is the norm, this government-backed rate feels almost like a financial hack.

It is a Step Toward Financial Security.

Rent is an expense. A mortgage is an asset building strategy. This loan bridges the gap between today’s income and tomorrow’s equity.

The Diaspora Dream Is Alive

Nigerians abroad, take note; you can access this too. All you need is credit scores from international agencies like Equifax (plus a few extra documents) and that Lagos or Abuja home isn’t just a retirement fantasy anymore. It turns real.

Your Down Payment Just Got Smaller

Forget saving 30-40% upfront. MREIF requires just 10% equity contribution. That ₦100 million home? You need ₦10 million, not ₦30 million. The barrier to entry has never been this low for genuine homeownership.

Ready to stop renting and own your own home? MREIF is the key. Visit the FirstBank website now to get started.

As Ramadan begins, MAGGI has unveiled a multi-layered national campaign anchored on culturally grounded storytelling, consumer value and community engagement.

At the heart of the campaign is Tales of Ramadan Season 2, a six-episode drama series that premiered at a star-studded event at EbonyLife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos. The evening featured elegant abaya-themed dressing and décor inspired by the warmth and serenity of the season, underscoring the cultural significance MAGGI attaches to Ramadan. The series has since launched nationwide across terrestrial TV, cable and major digital platforms.

Building on the strong reception of Season 1, the new season expands its creative ambition with richer narratives and enhanced cinematic quality. Directed by Orire Nwani and produced by Goodness Emmanuel, the series explores themes of faith, food, family, friendship, forgiveness and freedom, reflecting the lived realities of Ramadan in Nigerian homes.

While each episode tells a distinct and relatable story, they are united by a powerful message: Ramadan is a time for reflection, generosity and reconnecting with what truly matters.

The new season features a compelling ensemble cast whose performances bring authenticity and emotional depth to stories that mirror everyday Ramadan experiences across Nigerian households.

Speaking at the premiere, Funmilayo Osineye, Category Manager, Culinary, said:

“Ramadan is a season where food carries deeper meaning, symbolising generosity, reflection and togetherness. At MAGGI, our role goes beyond flavour. We are intentional about showing up in ways that respect the season and support families meaningfully. This campaign reflects that commitment.”

The series premiered on February 12, 2026, and is currently airing weekly across terrestrial television, cable platforms and major digital channels nationwide.

Beyond the screen, MAGGI is marking Ramadan with several consumer-focused engagements across the country. Shoppers will enjoy added value through special extra-cube offers in MAGGI STAR sachets during the season. In modern trade outlets, experiential activations will reward shoppers with premium gifts, while certified nutritionists provide complimentary guidance on maintaining balanced meals during fasting.

In the spirit of generosity that defines Ramadan, MAGGI is also partnering with mosques and tertiary institutions nationwide to host Iftar pop-up experiences, reaching over 100,000 consumers through shared meals and product sampling. The brand is further collaborating with selected influencers to support community give-back initiatives, extending the values of compassion and service beyond the table.

Through all these, MAGGI demonstrates a holistic understanding of Ramadan as a cultural moment rooted in faith, compassion and shared meals. With Tales of Ramadan Season 2, the brand reinforces its enduring place in Nigerian kitchens, strengthening emotional connection while driving meaningful in-season relevance.

Leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc, has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives and wellbeing of indigent persons with the donation of relief items to inmates at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos.

The project, executed under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative known as Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), saw the bank’s Human Resources (HR) department hand over various household tools and gift items to the leadership of the correctional facility as part of its efforts to support the rehabilitation and development of indigent persons in society.

Through the FHHP, staff across Fidelity Bank branches nationwide identify crucial interventions needed in their immediate community and raise funds to execute them. The bank’s management then matches this contribution with an equal amount and disburses it for the selected project.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Chief Human Resources Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Charles Nwachukwu, reaffirmed the bank’s deep commitment to transforming lives and restoring hope. He emphasized that true progress lies not only in financial growth but in extending compassion and opportunity to those that society often overlooks.

“At Fidelity Bank, we believe that every individual deserves a second chance. Our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility is rooted in empathy, standing with communities, uplifting the vulnerable, and opening doors for brighter futures. By supporting inmates today, we are setting them on the true path of rehabilitation, empowering them to return tomorrow as productive and confident members of society.”

Reacting to the gesture from Fidelity Bank, Deputy Controller of Corrections at Ikoyi Custodial Centre, Dr Julius Ogueri appealed to Nigerians to avoid cybercrimes and stigmatization of ex-inmates.

Leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc has reinforced its commitment to community development and youth empowerment with the donation of educational and hygiene materials to pupils of Wesley Nursery and Primary School in the Makoko Waterfront Community, Lagos, under its Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP).

The FHHP outreach was led by the Bank’s Risk Management Directorate as part of a “Back to School” intervention aimed at improving learning conditions and promoting personal hygiene among children in one of Nigeria’s most underserved waterfront communities. Through the FHHP, staff receive matching financial support from the bank’s management to execute projects identified in response to their communities’ crucial needs.

A total of 124 primary school pupils benefitted from the initiative. Items donated included school bags, exercise books, writing materials, towels, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, designed to support both academic learning and healthy living.

Speaking at the outreach, Divisional Head, Remedial Assets, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Damian Orizu, who represented the Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer, Fidelity Bank, Mr. Kevin Ugwuoke, said the initiative underscores the bank’s belief that its long-term success is closely linked to the wellbeing of the communities in which it operates.

“At Fidelity Bank, we strongly believe that our growth and success are closely tied to the wellbeing of the communities where we operate,” Dr. Orizu said. “This outreach is our way of investing in the future of Makoko’s children by supporting their education and promoting good hygiene, which are critical foundations for long-term development.”

Orizu further added, “The FHHP reflects the passion and commitment of our employees to make a tangible difference. I commend the Risk Management Directorate for championing this intervention and demonstrating that corporate responsibility starts from within.”

The Baale, Adogbo (1) Community, Makoko, Chief Victor Panke, thanked Fidelity Bank for its consistent support, noting the severe financial and transportation challenges faced by children in the area. “This support will go a long way in easing the burden on our children and their families,” Chief Panke said. “Many pupils struggle daily with transportation across the lagoon just to attend school. We are grateful to Fidelity Bank and appeal for continued assistance, especially in the area of boats to help our children access education more safely and easily.”

The Makoko outreach is the Bank’s third intervention in the community within the last two months. Through the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme, Fidelity Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to education, hygiene and sustainable community development, with a special focus on vulnerable communities such as Makoko.
