

Alayande of Odo Ayandelu pledges his support to the NSCDC …

In line with the directive of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD., mni, OFR, the Lagos State Command has taken its ongoing community engagement with stakeholders on all the items covering the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ) in the country to the Area J Command covering Epe, Eredo, Ikosi – Ejirin and Magbon Divisions, today, Thursday, 26th March, 2026.
The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, who was ably represented by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin told the stakeholders at the community engagement event that the sensitization campaign was aimed towards reducing the cases of vandalism on telecommunications – fibre optic cables, blockage of access to sites, vandalization of transformers and electricity cables, removal of manholes on the roads and illegal scrap dealings amongst others often noticed as the handi work of hoodlums, miscreants and shenanigans who do not care about the progress of the community.
The Lagos State Commandant seized the meeting to warn against the vandalism of cables of Distribution Companies ( DISCOs ), destruction of fibre optic cables, irons often laid underneath the ground by telecommunication and construction engineers respectively.
The Lagos State Commandant charged all stakeholders in attendance to report suspected cases of vandalism on power installations complained by their communities to the Divisional Offices of the NSCDC closer to them or through the emergency numbers of the state; 112, 767 and the dedicated line of the public relations unit of the command; +2348163597310.
The Executive Chairman, of Eredo LCDA, Honourable Monsuru Akinloye was commended by the Area J Commander, Assistant Commandant Kalejaye Olusola for his support towards ensuring the successful outing of the community engagement held in the Eredo LCDA hall today.
The Alayande of Odo Ayandelu, His Royal Majesty ( HRM ) Oba Aderibigbe Asunmo Balogun while delivering his speech charged all stakeholders to take responsibility towards the collective protection of assets and infrastructure in their communities.
He further charged the stakeholders present at the meeting to pledge their unalloyed commitment to the protection of electrical cables , manholes, fiber optic cables, rail sleepers, power installations, telecommunications and all others from untoward attack by vandals, shenanigans, miscreants and all unscrupulous elements in their communities moving forward.
The Market leader of Eredo, Chief Mrs Roseline Ogunkoya also sought the NSCDC to give their union more support to complement the already established security in their market places. She as well pledged more support for the NSCDC Divisions in the communities under their Areas of Responsibility ( AoR ).
The representative of Scrap Dealers’ Association in Eredo and Epe also sought for more collaboration with the Corps in their communities to eliminate vandalism of electrical cables contributing to power outage in Epe for some months ago.
The Area Commander, Area J Command, Assistant Commandant of Corps Kalejaye Olusola and his Divisional Officers were also present to engage stakeholders during the interactive sessions well moderated at the event.
The event drew goodwill messages and speeches from the representatives of Traditional Rulers of Epe, Ilara and Onaforija, 0wners and Operators, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps , National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, LNSC , National Union of Road Transport Workers et ce tera.
