


The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Lagos State Chapter, solemnly extends her profound condolences to the National Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, following the unfortunate demise of her beloved daughter-in-law.
In a statement issued by the Lagos Chapter, the Chairperson, Comrade Jumoke Johnson noted that the tidings of the loss struck with immense sorrow and disbelief.
‘The transition of the late daughter-in-law represents not only a personal bereavement for the Ibrahim family, but a moment of collective grief for the entire NAWOJ sisterhood across Nigeria’ The Chairperson emphasized that death, though an inevitable ordinance of the Almighty, remains a painful test that leaves families and communities with a void difficult to fill.
“We received the report of your daughter-in-law’s passing with heavy hearts and a deep sense of loss. Words are inadequate to capture the pain this moment carries, yet we wish to reassure you that you are surrounded by the prayers, empathy, and solidarity of every member of NAWOJ Lagos. We stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this trying season, beseeching Allah, the Most Merciful, to envelop you and your family with divine comfort, patience, and unshakable strength. May His light dispel the darkness of grief and uphold you as you navigate this difficult path,” the statement conveyed.
Johnson described Comrade Aisha Ibrahim’s exemplary leadership, as a beacon of wisdom, resilience, and motherly devotion to women journalists nationwide and therefore urged all executives and members to support her especially with prayers at this critical period.
I urge our National President to find solace in the cherished memories of her late daughter-in-law — her kindness, warmth, and the positive imprint she left on all who knew her.
NAWOJ Lagos also acknowledged the overwhelming show of love and support from colleagues, friends, and stakeholders, noting that such unity in moments of sorrow reflects the true spirit of sisterhood that binds the Association.
“We pray that the Almighty Allah overlooks her shortcomings, accepts her good deeds, and grants her a place in Al-Jannah Firdaus. We pray He strengthens the Ibrahim family, binds your hearts together, and transforms this period of mourning into one of enduring faith and fortitude. May the legacy of love, compassion, and unity she shared continue to serve as a source of healing and inspiration for all of you,” the statement concluded.
