The Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund (NPFTF), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police force has successfully concluded a four-day vocational skills acquisition and empowerment programme for wives of junior police officers in the Delta State. The programme, which focused on tailoring and hairdressing, trained 100 beneficiaries, comprising 79 in tailoring and 21 in hairdressing. At the closing ceremony, each participant was presented with a starter kit in her chosen vocation to encourage self-reliance and sustainable income generation.

Representing the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, at the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, commended the beneficiaries for their commitment throughout the training and urged them to put the skills acquired into productive use. He encouraged them to continually improve on their newly acquired trades, remain focused on building viable businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the welfare of their families. The DCP further urged the women to continue supporting and praying for their husbands as they discharge the demanding responsibility of protecting lives and property across the country.

In his remarks, the Team Lead of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr. Charles Omorogiuwa, described the programme as part of the Trust Fund’s strategic commitment to improving the welfare of police families through sustainable empowerment initiatives. He noted that the programme was executed under the leadership of the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr. Mohammed Sheidu, and encouraged the beneficiaries to maximise the opportunity by establishing themselves in their chosen vocations. Also speaking, the President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Delta State Chapter, Mrs. Rosemary Adejo, expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for the laudable initiative and urged the beneficiaries to remain dedicated to the skills they had acquired.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, commends the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for its continued investment in the welfare of police families through impactful empowerment programmes. He noted that strengthening the economic capacity of police families complements the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in promoting the welfare and morale of its personnel, while fostering stronger and more resilient homes for officers serving the nation.
