1. RECOVERY OF ONE CUT-TO-SIZE SINGLE-BARREL GUN, ARREST OF ONE SUSPECT
On 25 July 2026, operatives of Ozoro Division, while on routine township patrol along Alaka Road, Ozoro, intercepted one Yakubu Musa (m), 25, carrying roofing sheets suspected to have been stolen. During interrogation, the suspect failed to give a satisfactory account of the items in his possession, prompting further investigation. A subsequent search of his residence led to the recovery of one cut-to-size single-barrel gun. The suspect is in custody, while investigation is ongoing.
2. RECOVERY OF ONE BERETTA PISTOL, ARREST OF ONE SUSPECT
On 24 July 2026, acting on credible intelligence, operatives of Agbor Division intercepted one Sunday Anaboro (m), 40, of Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area, residing in Agbor. A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of one Beretta pistol concealed in a sack. The suspect was arrested and presently in custody. He will be charged to court upen conclusion of investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reiterating the command’s resolve to rid the State of illegal firearms and other instruments of crime. He urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police with credible and timely information that will aid ongoing efforts to combat crime across Delta State.
