The newly installed traditional ruler in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, HRM Oba Abdulkabir Adesegun Bashiru, the Olu of Oko Baba Agba, has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, for recognising the Oko Baba Agba community and making the creation of the traditional stool possible.
Oba Adesegun Bashiru expressed his appreciation during a media chat with the Editor of Insight Global News.
He said: “I thank Almighty Allah for His faithfulness. I deeply appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu for making this development possible in the Oko Baba Agba community.
“I also extend my gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and other distinguished traditional rulers for their contributions towards making the Oko Baba Agba traditional stool a reality.
“I am equally indebted to my family, friends and the good people of Oko Baba Agba for their unwavering support and prayers before and during my official installation and presentation of the Staff of Office on Friday, August 14, 2026. I do not take this love and kind gesture for granted.”
The Baba Oba, elder brother of the Olu of Oko Baba Agba, Prince Aremo Nurudeen Olamilekan Saliu, also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and the Sanwo-Olu administration for their commitment to the development and elevation of the Oko Baba Agba community through the establishment of the traditional institution.
Baba Oba described the development as the beginning of a new dawn for the people of Oko Baba Agba and prayed that Almighty Allah would grant HRM Oba Abdulkabir Adesegun Bashiru the wisdom, understanding and strength to lead his people effectively.


In his concluding remarks, Oba Adesegun Bashiru assured residents of his commitment to inclusiveness, unity and peaceful coexistence. He further expressed confidence that the people of Oko Baba Agba would continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda going into 2027.
According to tradition; the third day( Ita) coronation prayer and get-together witnessed mammoth of well wishers including Pastors of various church denomination , Islamic clerics ( Baba Loworo son), Chief Imam of Oko Baba Agba community, traditional religion worshippers to mention but few.
It will be recalled that the Olu of Oko Baba Agba, Oba Kabiru Adesegun Bashiru, is a son of the late first monarch of Oworonsoki community Oba Bashiru Oloruntoyin Saliu, who joined his ancestors at the age of 72, six years ago.
