The Spinal Cord Injury Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, has praised the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its unwavering commitment to road safety and its integrity in handling road traffic crash (RTC) victims.
During a recent visit to the FRSC RS2.1 Lagos State Sector Command in celebration of International Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, Miss Ezinne, a female member of the Association, commended the FRSC for their honesty and professionalism. She highlighted that FRSC personnel are known for not taking money or personal belongings from crash victims, ensuring that their valuables remain intact during rescue operations. This trustworthiness has earned them respect and gratitude from many who have experienced their services firsthand.
The Association also praised the FRSC’s strong stance on road safety, particularly their advocacy for seat belt use, discouraging phone use while driving, and strict enforcement against speeding as part of the major causes of RTCs.
The Chairman, Abdulwahab Matepo emphasized that these efforts are crucial in preventing accidents and reducing the severity of injuries.
Sector Commander CC PD Davou expressed appreciation for the commendation and reiterated the FRSC’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and road safety. He also welcomed continued collaboration with the Spinal Cord Injury Association to further enhance public awareness and safety practices.
