Delta Police Command Arrest Kidnappers,Serial Car Snatchers, Other Criminal Offenses

  1. ARREST OF SERIAL CAR SNATCHERS AND MURDER SUSPECTS: On the 15th of December 2024, a lady ( name withheld) report Ekpan Police station that on same date, at about 2014hours, while she was standing at front of ShopRite, two boys approached her and negotiated the sum of 50,000 and took her to one club. After the club, they invited a cab man, and the cab man took them to one bar at Osubi. They instructed the cab man to go to Aziza junction in Warri Sapele road, upon getting there, to her surprise, one of the suspects brought a ripe from his pocket and use it to strangle the driver while in motion and she was beaten and asked to bend her face down. After killing the driver, they dragged the driver out and then abandoned the girl in the bush. On the 26th December, the same syndicate also attacked another cab driver in Benin, but the Cab driver escaped abandoning the vehicle with them. Consequently, on 2st of January 2025, the syndicate brought the car stolen in benin to scrap yard in Warri to sell. The scrap dealers who suspected, called the DPO Ekpan who came and arrested them. The two suspects Junior Emmanuel ‘m’ age 33yrs and Julius Samuel ‘m’ age 28yrs confessed that they were serial car snatchers and were the ones who murdered the cab man at Osubi on 15th December 2024. The two vehicles have been recovered from them.
  2. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION: Following complaints received from residents in Ekpan, Warri and environs on the activities of a syndicate who operates at night time as keke riders and rob their passengers, the DPO Ekpan detailed operatives attached to Ekpan division to go all out and ensure that the suspects are arrested. Following an intensive intelligence led Investigation, on 3rd January 2025, two suspects namely; Osio Emmanuel Nyerohwo ‘m’ age 28yrs, and Sabiu Adamu ‘m’ aged 26yrs were arrested at Warri Sapele road in Uvwie LGA and recovered two locally made guns, thirteen live cartridges, Nine mobile phones, and their operational tricycle were recovered. The suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
  3. ARREST OF SELF KIDNAPPER AND SUSPECTED FRAUDSTER: On 11/11/2024, at about 1100hours, a complainant (name withheld) reported that one Smart Amanda ‘f’ aged 40yrs, who he met on facebook was on her to to visit in Ekpan and was kidnapped along agbarho road and later he got a call from one faith Oghenejabor that her friend Smart Amanda who was coming to see him has been kidnapped and the kidnappers were demanding a ransom of Fifteen Million Naira (#15,000,000). The friend called the next day stating that they had gotten a huge part of the money and its remaining one hundred and fifty thousand naira to complete the money. After the release of Smart Amanda, her friend Faith continued to call and extort money from him and that she collected a total of one million Nine hundred and fifty thousand naira from him. The DPO Ekpan detailed operatives who embarked on an intelligence investigation and arrested faith Oghenejabor. The investigation later revealed that Faith Oghenejabor is the same person as Smart Amanda. Suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
  4. ARREST OF A SUSPECTED CULTISTS AND RECOVERY OF ONE BERETTA PISTOL, ONE REVOLVER PISTOL, THREE LOCALLY MADE GUN: On 26th of July 2024, acting on credible information, operatives of Ekpan Police station raid an apartment in DSC where one Beretta pistol, two locally made double barrel gun, two locally made single barrel gun, one English revolver pistol, one locally made revolver pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, one Beretta magazine, two toy gun, thirty-five rounds of ammunition were recovered and one suspect was initially arrested and released when it was discovered that he was the father of the suspect who was at that time at large. On 23rd of December 2024, the DPO got information that the suspect who was sighted at Orhuwhorun town performing handing over ceremony as the number one man in Eiye confraternity. The suspect Prosper Akeni ‘m’ aged 32yrs was arrested. The suspect upon interrogation stated that the guns belong to his cult group and he was in custody of the arms because he was the number one man. Suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
  5. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CUSTISTS/ARMED ROBBER, AND RECOVERY OF ONE PUMP ACTION GUN AND ONE LOCALLY MADE CUT-TO-SIZE GUN: On 10th of January 2025, acting on credible intelligence, Operatives of CP- Special assignment team (CP-SAT) stormed Oghara town and arrested Lucky Adoko ‘m’ aged 39yrs, Bishop Bobi ‘m’ aged 44yrs and recovered one locally made cut-to-size gun, the operatives also stormed sapele town where they arrested one Junior Umokoro ‘m’ aged 24years and recovered one pump action gun. Investigation revealed that Bishop Bobi is a member of Eiye confraternity member. The suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
  6. ARREST OF A MALE SUSPECT WHO DEFILED A 12 YEAR OLD BOY: On 7/1/2025 at about 1930 hours, the DPO Ogborikoko Division received a complaint from a man (name withheld) of Ogborikoko community, that at about 0800hours of 4th January 2024, they received a complaint from their 12-year-old son (name withheld) that their neighbor one Volte Bale ‘m’ aged 26yrs invited him to his barbing salon, logged into a pornographic website and said to him that both of them should do what they were watching. The suspect then allegedly defiled the 12 year old boy through his mouth and Anus and preliminary investigation also revealed that he has been defiling the victim for the past two years. Suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
  7. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CHILD TRAFFICKER: On 9th January 2025, a complainant (name withheld) came to the station and reported that his girlfriend deceived him and his sister that their six weeks old child had died but according to the complainant, he suspected foul play, the DPO Ogborikoko division detailed operative to investigate. The suspect Blessing Kojo Oghenefejiri ‘f’ aged 25 years was arrested and during the investigation, the suspect confessed that the child did not die but gave the child out to a couple. Upon further investigation, it revealed that the suspect also deceived another couple and lied to them that she was gang raped by four men and that the child does not have a father. She then gave the baby away. All suspects involved have been arrested and an investigation is ongoing.
