BOCA ENERGY RESOURCES LTD, a leading indigenous oil and gas company, has officially confirmed that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. James Ukachukwu, will chair the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel annual Press Week, scheduled for June 27, 2026.

The confirmation follows a formal invitation extended by the Chapel’s planning committee.

In his response, Mr. Ukachukwu personally affirmed his intention to attend the event in person, demonstrating his commitment to media-industry collaboration and ethical journalism.

Mr. Alfred Abiodun, Head of Media and Publicity at BOCA ENERGY RESOURCES LTD, stated:

“The Chairman has officially responded to the letter from the events organisers, in which he affirmed his intention to attend in person. He looks forward to engaging with the foremost correspondents in Lagos and supporting the Chapel’s dedication to journalistic excellence and professional development.”

The NUJ Lagos Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week is an annual flagship event that brings together political, economic, investigative, and business journalists from major media houses operating in Lagos State.

The week-long programme typically features a lecture series, symposia, awards ceremony, and networking sessions aimed at fostering high standards of reporting and ethical practice.

Mr. Ukachukwu’s acceptance to chair the event underscores his respect for the media’s role in national development, transparency, and good governance.

With decades of experience in the oil and gas sector, corporate leadership, and community engagement, his participation is expected to enrich conversations around energy, economic growth, and the media’s watchdog role.
