The Lagos Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) advises motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to exercise patience, caution, and strict compliance with traffic regulations as the corridor is currently experiencing heavy vehicular and human traffic volume due to increased Eid-el-Kabir homebound movement and heightened commercial activities around the Kara–OPIC area.
The most affected areas remain Kara–OPIC and adjoining sections of the expressway, both inward and outward Lagos.
To ease traffic flow and reduce travel delays, motorists travelling through the Lagos–Sagamu–Ore–Benin corridor are advised to utilize alternative routes through the Lekki–Epe Expressway and the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road where necessary.
Similarly, motorists plying the Apapa–Badagry Expressway are advised to remain patient, avoid dangerous overtaking and speeding, and cooperate with traffic and security personnel strategically deployed along the corridor to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.
The Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, has deployed over 700 personnel to traffic-prone corridors across the State for effective traffic control, enforcement, rescue services, and public enlightenment during the festive period.
The Command further urges all road users to maintain lane discipline, avoid one-way driving, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, and prioritize safety at all times.
While wishing all residents and travellers a peaceful and fruitful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the FRSC Lagos Sector Command cautions motorists against any act capable of endangering their lives and those of other road users.
Drive Responsibly, Arrive Alive.
