…..Reinforces Transparency and Public Accounts with Physical Complaint Centre in Oshodi.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has further reinforced its unwavering commitment to institutional, transparency, public accountsbility and citizen-centred service delivery with the announcement that its newly inaugurated 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre, operating under the Agency’s DIGITAL CENTRE, successfully processed an impressive 2,843 public engagements within the first thirty (30) days of operation.

The operational statistics, spanning 28th June to 29th July 2026, provide compelling evidence of the growing confidence reposed in the Agency by Lagos residents, particularly the motoring public, who increasingly regard LASTMA as a responsive, accessible and dependable institution dedicated to promoting road safety, preserving traffic order and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of vehicular movement across the State’s transportation network.

A detailed analysis of the engagements revealed 1,047 enquiry calls, 709 commendation calls, 468 successfully resolved cases, 400  accident and vehicular breakdown reports, 163 formal complaints, 11 information requests and 45 Unsuccessful calls the latter resulting principally from abandoned calls, interrupted network connections and technical contingencies.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki described the overwhelming public response as a profound affirmation of the Agency’s unwavering pursuit of operational excellence, institutional integrity, administrative transparency and service delivery anchored on the highest standards of professionalism.

Bakare-Oki further disclosed that, beyond the successful deployment of the 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre, the Agency also established a dedicated Physical Complaint Centre at its Headquarters in Oshodi to provide members of the public with a convenient platform for lodging complaints, making enquiries and reporting traffic-related concerns, including matters relating to the conduct, professionalism and operational activities of LASTMA personnel across Lagos State.

According to him, the establishment of the Physical Complaint Centre (PCC) represents yet another strategic milestone in the Agency’s ongoing institutional reform agenda, deliberately conceived to deepen public confidence, consolidate institutional credibility, strengthen transparency and provide an additional avenue for meaningful engagement between LASTMA and the citizenry.

“The Physical Complaint Centre complements our 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre by providing members of the public who prefer face-to-face engagement with a convenient platform to report traffic-related concerns, seek clarifications and lodge complaints regarding the conduct of our officers. Every complaint received is accorded the utmost seriousness and subjected to painstaking investigation in strict compliance with established administrative procedures, extant regulations and the immutable principles of natural justice,” Mr. Bakare-Oki stated.

The General Manager further reiterated LASTMA’s uncompromising zero-tolerance policy against corruption, extortion, misconduct, abuse of office and every manifestation of unprofessional conduct. He assured Lagos residents and the motoring public that every genuine complaint received through any of the Agency’s reporting channels would be subjected to an impartial, transparent and exhaustive investigation, stressing that any officer found culpable, following due process, would be sanctioned in accordance with the extant Public Service Rules and the Agency’s disciplinary framework.

Mr. Bakare-Oki further emphasized that both the 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre and the Physical Complaint Centre constitute integral pillars of LASTMA’s broader institutional transformation agenda aimed at entrenching transparency, strengthening public trust, reinforcing accountability and fostering seamless communication between the Agency and all categories of road users.

He therefore appealed to motorists, commuters, transport operators, corporate organisations, civil society groups and other stakeholders to continue making responsible use of the Agency’s complaint, enquiry and feedback channels, emphasizing that active public participation remains indispensable to the attainment of safer roads, enhanced traffic management and the development of a more efficient, resilient and sustainable transportation ecosystem across Lagos State.
