Hon. Bashorun Abdullahi Adekunle Oladeji Eyitayo, fondly known as Omo BAO, a distinguished son of Ibadan and scion of the revered Alhaji Bashorun Chief Bello Adeleke Oladeji(BAO) family, has formally announced his intention to contest in the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election. With a deep-seated connection to the cultural and historical fabric of Ibadan, Omo BAO is uniquely positioned to bring his extensive experience and profound understanding of the community’s needs to the federal stage, where he seeks to effectively advocate for the interests of his constituents.

In his address to the press, Omo BAO, also known as the son of Baba BAO, extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Hon. Musiliu Akinremi, affectionately called Jagaban, acknowledging the significant void left by his passing. He emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Ibadan North, underscoring the breadth of his experience in public service.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the Akinremi Jagaban dynasty. My years of service in various capacities within our community have equipped me to represent our constituency effectively at the federal level. I am confident that my vision, dedication, and leadership will benefit both our party and our people,” Omo BAO stated.

As a part of his formal declaration, Omo BAO, who previously served as the caretaker chairman and the pioneering chairman of Latosa LCDA, has submitted his official letter of intent to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling the commencement of his campaign. His decision to run is underpinned by a legacy of service, where he has been lauded for his exceptional administrative acumen, dedication to community development, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

During his tenure as the inaugural Chairman of Latosa LCDA under the administration of His Excellency Abiola Ajimobi, Omo BAO was instrumental in transforming the local government area. His leadership was marked by significant strides in infrastructural development, education, and youth empowerment. His initiatives in enhancing local healthcare services, bolstering community safety, and fostering economic growth have left an indelible mark on Ibadan North LGA.

Omo BAO has received numerous accolades, including the Distinguished Service Award from UNICEF for his contributions to children’s education, the Achievers Award from the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) for his impact on arts and culture, and the Meritorious Award as “Efficient Administrator of the Year” by New Moon Communication at Ilaji Resorts and Farm in 2019.

His candidacy is anticipated to resonate strongly with the Ibadan North community, where his contributions are well-known and deeply appreciated. Omo BAO’s leadership has earned him the trust and admiration of both his peers and constituents, positioning him as a formidable contender in the upcoming bye-election.

As his campaign gathers momentum, Omo BAO is expected to unveil his vision for the future, focusing on policies and initiatives that promise meaningful change for Ibadan North. His proven track record of excellence, coupled with his deep-rooted connection to the community, makes him a compelling candidate for the bye-election.

The Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election is set to be closely contested, with Omo BAO’s entry adding a significant dynamic to the race. Voters will soon have the opportunity to hear more about his plans and priorities for the constituency.

Omo BAO’s declaration marks a pivotal step in his journey to represent Ibadan North at the federal level, a role he believes he is well-prepared to undertake. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve our people in a greater capacity and to work tirelessly to ensure that our voices are heard at the national level,” Omo BAO concluded.
