The election of Saturday the 16th of November , 2024 in all the 18 local government areas of Ondo state had favoured The All Progressive Congress Party (APC) governorship candidate Mr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa .
INEC returning officer Mr Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice chancellor Federal university Lokoja made the pronouncement today the 17th of November at The state Independent National Electoral Commission final collations centre.
Mr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa retained the governorship seat with highest votes count of 366,781 which made the PDP governorship candidate Hon. Alfred Agboola Ajayi as second runner up with votes count 117,845 while ADC had 4,138 as the third runner up.
Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa was late Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu’s deputy , he became the governor after the demise of his boss on December 25th, 2023 .
Aiyedatiwa an Ilaje man from Ilaje – Ese Odo is the first indigenous Ilaje man to become Ondo state governor since her inception in 1976.
