Lagos: NAWOJ Congratulates Bajulaye On His Appointment As Permanent Secretary, Min. Of Tourism, Art & Culture

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has extended its warm congratulations to Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye on his appointment as the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture on Monday, 24th March, 2025.

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye at his office in Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. The visit was to congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment as the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
His elevation to this well deserved position is a testament to his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
In recognition of this milestone, a delegation from NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter, led by its Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Adeola Ekine, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Bajulaye to present an official congratulatory letter.
The visit was an opportunity to celebrate his achievements and reaffirm the association’s support for his continued success in his new role.

Speaking during the visit, Ekine described Mr. Bajulaye as an exemplary leader whose contributions to public administration and strategic communication have earned him widespread respect. She noted that his wealth of experience, particularly as an astute Public Affairs Director, will bring significant transformation to the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.
She further highlighted his long-standing relationship with NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter, emphasizing his consistent support for the association’s initiatives and his active role as a He-for-She Ambassador. His advocacy for gender inclusivity and the advancement of women in journalism has set a remarkable precedent for other public officials to emulate.
Dr. Ekine commended Mr. Bajulaye’s dedication to promoting ethical journalism and providing an enabling environment for female journalists to thrive. She acknowledged his open-door policy, she expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Ministry will witness significant growth and innovation.
His vast experience in public relations and governance will undoubtedly enhance the state’s tourism sector, making Lagos a more attractive destination for both local and international visitors.

In response, Mr. Bajulaye expressed profound appreciation to NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter, for the thoughtful recognition and goodwill. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the association’s efforts in promoting gender equity and ensuring that female journalists receive the necessary support and opportunities to excel in their careers.
He acknowledged the critical role of journalists in nation-building and pledged to continue strengthening the synergy between the government and the media. He emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in shaping public perception and policies that drive societal progress.

Mr. Bajulaye assured NAWOJ of his continuous collaboration with the association in areas of capacity building, advocacy, and public enlightenment. He also encouraged female journalists to leverage their platforms to promote positive narratives about Lagos State’s tourism sector and developmental strides.

The visit was marked by a warm atmosphere of camaraderie, as members of NAWOJ commended Mr. Bajulaye for his open-mindedness and commitment to gender-inclusive governance. They expressed optimism that his leadership will bring about greater partnerships that will benefit both the media and the tourism sector.
NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter, remains steadfast in its mission to champion the interests of female journalists and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders in government and society.
The association looks forward to working closely with Mr. Bajulaye in areas that will promote sustainable tourism development and media advocacy.
Once again, NAWOJ, Lagos State Chapter, celebrates Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye on this well-deserved appointment and wishes him a successful and impactful tenure as Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism.
