The Mogaji Ajiwogbo and Member of the House of Representatives representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon Akin Alabi extends his congratulations to the good people of Oyo and the entire Oyo Kingdom on the historic coronation of his imperial majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, Elewu Etu 1 as the new Alaafin of Oyo, which holds on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
The ascension of Oba Owoade marks a new dawn in the rich heritage of Oyo, a venerated land known for its deep-rooted traditions, cultural pride, and enduring legacy. Hon. Akin Alabi expresses optimism that the reign of the new Alaafin will usher in an era of peace, progress, and prosperity for the sons and daughters of the ancient town, both at home and in the diaspora.
“I join millions of Yoruba sons and daughters around the world in celebrating this occasion,” Hon. Alabi stated. “The stool of the Alaafin is not just a symbol of royalty, but an exalted institution that embodies the strength, unity, and pride of the Yoruba people. I pray that Kabiyesi’s reign will be long, impactful, and filled with divine wisdom.”
Hon. Akin Alabi commends the kingmakers, the Oyo Mesi, the Oyomesi-in-Council, and all stakeholders involved in the selection process for upholding the dignity and sanctity of the traditional institution.
He hailed the emergence of the new monarch and urged all Oyo indigenes and lovers of Yoruba culture to rally around the new monarch in love, loyalty, and service to the land.
