His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D, the Olota of Otta, paid a historic courtesy visit to the newly crowned Osolo of Isolo, Aworiland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Farounbi Shekoni on the 5th of April, 2025.
Oba Shekoni, who was recently installed through the instrumentality of the Lagos State Government and Isolo-in-Council, has since commenced the compulsory traditional seclusion (Ipebi) in accordance with the age-long customs of the ancient Awori Kingdom.
During the visit, Kabiyesi Olota congratulated the new monarch and offered heartfelt prayers for a peaceful, prosperous, and impactful reign on the throne of his forebears. Kabiyesi Olota also used the opportunity to call on the sons and daughters of Isolo to rally around the newly installed Osolo, irrespective of past differences, in the interest of peace, unity, and the progress of Isolo.
His Majesty, the Olota, was accompanied on the visit by notable personalities including Oba Maroof Adio Alagbe, the Elegushi of Egushi-Otta; Otun Maiyegun of Otta, Aare Ayodele Bankole, Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi (Omotobase of Otta), and others.
The royal visit rekindled the historical bond between Isolo and Otta, highlighting their shared heritage and ancestral ties, particularly with the people of Isoloshi, Ishorun, and Ilugba Otta, among other bonds.
