

Barely a week after eight persons lost their lives in a crash along the Agbara–Badagry Expressway, tragedy has struck again as one person was confirmed dead in another fatal road traffic crash.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State Sector Command, Route Commander Elizabeth Oluwadamilola Jayeola, disclosed to newsmen that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, 11th July 2025, at about 10:34 a.m.
According to her, the crash involved a Gold Toyota Coaster with registration number LUY 934 XB and had three male occupants, out of which one person was killed, while the remaining two were unhurt.
She attributed the cause of the crash to speeding and impatience on the part of the driver.
Items recovered at the scene by the FRSC rescue team include:
• A sum of ₦44,600
• One Itel mobile phone
• One car key
The crashed vehicle has been handed over to the Mowo Police Station for further investigation, while the obstruction caused by the incident was swiftly cleared, restoring normal vehicular movement on the route.
The deceased victim has been conveyed to General Hospital, Badagry.
Reacting to the incident, the Lagos State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, reiterated the Corps’ commitment to ensuring safer road use and emphasized the need for all drivers to strictly obey speed limits and other road safety regulations to avoid needless loss of lives.
