The Ondo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a significant breakthrough in connection with the tragic killing of an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who was gunned down in the line of duty in the early hours of yesterday, at Akinnawonu community, Itanla, Ondo.
Upon receipt of the report, police operatives were swiftly mobilized to the scene. Through a prompt and coordinated response, four suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting, and a single-barrel firearm suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered.
This proactive response underscores the Command’s unwavering commitment to upholding the mission and vision of the Inspector-General of Police, which advocates for a people-centered policing approach that is professional, accountable, and firmly rooted in the principles of the rule of law.
Under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Lawal Adebowale, psc(+), mnips, the Command continues to align with this vision by ensuring that violent crimes, particularly those targeting law enforcement officers in the line of duty, are thoroughly investigated and perpetrators brought to justice.
