New Era Begins In Agbado Oke-Odo Council,As Gov Sanwo-Olu Swears In Alhaji Ishola Jimoh Abiodun As The New Executive Chairman Of The Council For A Term Of Four Years (July,2025- July 2029)

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, on July 27th, 2025 has officially sworn in the newly elected chairmen and vice-chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state, signaling a renewed drive for grassroots development and service delivery..

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja, began with the swearing-in of the vice chairmen, followed by their respective chairmen.

The event is attended by family members and supporters of the new officials, alongside a host of dignitaries, including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), cabinet members, traditional rulers, community leaders, captains of industry, youth leaders, trade union representatives, and market leaders.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his address, charged the new council executives to prioritize the welfare of their constituents and justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized the critical role local governments play in delivering democracy’s dividends to the grassroots.

Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn-in chairmen, Hon. Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, expressed deep gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for their consistent support and commitment to local governance.

Olowa also acknowledged the strategic guidance of the GAC, led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi, and appreciated the leadership of the APC in Lagos, under Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, as well as party members who stood by them during the electioneering process.

With the swearing-in now concluded, the new set of grassroot leaders are expected to hit the ground running in delivering improved services to their communities.
