The Online Reporters Association of Nigeria (ORAN) is gearing up to celebrate its 6th anniversary in grand style, with a stellar lineup of speakers and guests. The event, scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025. promises to be a landmark occasion in the country’s media and security landscape.

At the helm of the event is Dr. Olabisi Akanbi, CEO of LABO Business Group and Lafath Properties, will serve as the Chairman of the Day. Dr. Akanbi’s expertise and leadership will undoubtedly ensure that the discussions are engaging, informative, and productive.

The keynote speaker at the event is SP Chidi Okoye, the Zone 2 Commander, Zonal Quick Interventions Squad, who will be delivering a paper on “The Responsibility of Paramilitary in Curbing Insecurity in Nigeria.” SP Okoye’s presentation is expected to shed light on the critical role of paramilitary agencies in addressing the country’s security challenges.

Another notable speaker at the event is Blaise Odunze, a financial and Public Relations expert, who will be discussing “Prevention of Financial Crimes Amidst Insecurity in Nigeria.” Odunze’s presentation will explore the nexus between financial crimes and insecurity, and provide insights into how financial institutions can contribute to national security.

The event will take place at the LCCI, 10 Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo Way, Drive, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 11 am. The venue is renowned for hosting high-profile events, and attendees can expect a well-organized and impactful experience.

The Online Reporters Association of Nigeria (ORAN) has been a vocal advocate for press freedom and journalists’ rights in Nigeria. Dr. Olabisi Akanbi is a Nigerian entrepreneur with diverse interests in real estate, automotive, and entertainment. He’s the CEO and founder of LABO Group, a company with multiple projects in Nigeria.

SP Chidi Okoye is a multifaceted personality who serves as a Superintendent of Police in the Nigeria Police Force, specifically as the head of the Zonal Quick Interventions Squad, Zone w Zonal Command, Onikan Lagos State.. He’s also a talented artist, quantity surveyor and author. Okoye has written several books, including “The Investigator,” “Checkmate,” and “The Syndicate Affairs,” which expose the darker aspects of society while highlighting the positive work of law enforcement. His literary works are not only entertaining but also serve as educational resources for law students, police officers and the general public.

Blaise Udunze is a journalist and public relations professional. He writes articles on finance, economics and banking,
Udunze has worked with various media outlets, including The Nigerian Voice, Sun News Online and PM Parrot. He served as the Head of Media and External Relations at Heritage Bank.
