At Ibadan in Oyo state during the Convocation Ceremony of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, the Best Graduating Student, Kemisola Yusufa student of Microbiology who scored 3.87 GP was splashed with a sum 6 million naira by the Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife and Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide.
Apart from Kemisola Yusuf, the overall best graduating student, 6 best Graduating students from each of the 6 faculties of the school got #1.5m each while 2 lecturers, winners of the OONI ADEYEYE ENITAN OGUNWUSI Award For Innovation & Technology got #2m each
Ooni Ogunwusi who doubles as Permanent Chairman, Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC) who is also graduated from the Institution 3 decades ago commended the school authorities for their efforts in sustaining the legacy of quality for which the school was known during his time as a student of accountancy department.
“This citadel of learning remains my foundation in life. I left this great school 30 years ago as an accountancy student and Its a thing of joy to reconnect to my foundation today 30 years after my graduation.
“Many years ago, I still remember my days in Unity hall and Ramat hall dealing with my studentship not knowing what the future had for me, but today, I’m the Ooni of IFE to the glory of God”. Ooni said.
