Alleged Attacks on Primate Ayodele; Diaspora Youths Demand Bayo Adelabu’s Resignation

The Nigerian Youths in Diaspora have called for the resignation of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, following allegations of orchestrated media attacks against renowned spiritual leader, Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.
In a strongly worded statement, the youth coalition expressed deep concern over what it described as a betrayal of trust and a dangerous affront to spiritual authority. According to the group, Adelabu—who has long benefited from Primate Ayodele’s spiritual mentorship—has chosen to vilify the cleric following a recent prophecy that questioned the minister’s political ambitions.
From Spiritual Support to Political Fallout
Primate Ayodele, known for his accurate and bold prophecies on political and national matters, has consistently provided spiritual guidance to Chief Adelabu. However, tensions reportedly escalated when the Primate declared that Adelabu’s aspirations to become governor of Oyo State in the 2027 elections do not align with divine will.
“There is rising unrest in Oyo State. The people of Oke-Ogun will resist political domination. Adebayo Adelabu will not become governor,” the Primate reportedly stated.

Following this prophecy, youth leaders claim the minister has sponsored negative media campaigns aimed at discrediting the Primate’s credibility and spiritual authority.
Diaspora Youths Condemn ‘Overzealous’ Reaction
The Nigerian Youths in Diaspora have condemned Adelabu’s alleged actions, describing them as “overzealous, spiritually insensitive, and unbecoming of a national leader.” They argue that attacking a man of God for delivering a prophetic message is not only unethical but spiritually perilous.
“Primate Ayodele stood by Minister Adelabu in prayer, offering support and guidance over the years. His prophecies are not based on personal opinion but divine insight. Fighting against such a voice is a direct challenge to God’s order,” the group said.
The youths emphasized that while leaders have the right to ambition, they must also exercise humility and discernment, especially when confronted with spiritual counsel.
A Call for Resignation
As a result of the ongoing controversy, the group has demanded the immediate resignation of Minister Adelabu, stating that his conduct undermines the dignity of his office and erodes public trust in leadership.
“A public servant who responds to prophecy with hostility and propaganda is not fit to serve. His continued presence in government could invite greater spiritual and societal repercussions,” the statement read.
The group also warned media outlets allegedly involved in the smear campaign to desist, urging them to uphold journalistic integrity and refrain from enabling attacks against religious figures.
A Warning and a Reminder
Despite the backlash, Primate Ayodele has reaffirmed his prophetic message, maintaining that Adelabu’s gubernatorial ambition is not endorsed by divine will. He stressed that as a servant of God, his duty is to speak the truth, regardless of who is affected.
“The word of God is eternal. His ways are not our ways,” the Primate said during a recent service.
The Nigerian Youths in Diaspora concluded by urging political leaders to respect prophetic voices and honor the role of spiritual guidance in national affairs. They emphasized that no ambition is worth the cost of opposing the divine.
