


The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Yunus Abiodun Akintunde Phd, has been nominated as a member of the Election Committee for the forthcoming 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
As part of the committee structure for the national exercise, Senator Akintunde has been appointed Chairman of the Logistics Sub-Committee, making him the only representative from the South-West geopolitical zone serving in that strategic leadership role within the election committee.
The APC National Convention, is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders from across the federation and will provide a platform for the conduct of key internal elections and decisions that will shape the future direction of the ruling party.
In his capacity as Chairman of the Logistics Sub-Committee, Senator Akintunde has been entrusted with critical operational responsibilities vital to the success of the convention elections. These duties include the printing of official election materials as well as the production of branded materials for election personnel who will oversee and participate in the conduct of the convention.
The assignment places the Oyo Central lawmaker at the center of preparations for one of the party’s most important internal democratic exercises, reflecting the confidence reposed in his capacity, leadership experience, and commitment to party organization.
