The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Tuesday, 7th of October, 2025 apprehended one Mr. Adetayo Adewodun, aged 47, for impersonating a LASTMA officer and fraudulently extorting the sum of ₦7,800 from an unsuspecting motorist around the Itire Junction axis of Lagos State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Mr. Adewodun, accosted one Mr. Ayano Stephen, driver of a white Hilux vehicle (GME 259 TE) belonging to a construction firm, for allegedly making an unlawful turn at the aforementioned junction.
