Hon. Akin Alabi, Member of the House of Representatives representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Works, has extended congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
In a statement released today, Hon. Alabi described the monarch as “a leader of grace, character, and integrity”.
Reflecting on his personal connection to the monarch, Hon. Alabi noted:
“Kabiyesi was a close friend and contemporary of my late father, Chief Adediran Alabi. Today, I am privileged to serve as the Jagun Olubadan, a title I hold with deep gratitude under his reign. It is a full-circle moment for our family.”
The lawmaker also highlighted the monarch’s distinguished public service record, including his time as a member of the House of Representatives and his military career, saying:
“Kabiyesi continues to lead with the calm dignity of a statesman and the affectionate firmness of a father to all. That he hails from Ona-Ara, my own federal constituency, further deepens our shared purpose.”
Hon. Alabi concluded his message with a prayer:
“As His Imperial Majesty turns 90 and celebrates one impactful year on the throne, I pray for his continued strength, sound health, and divine wisdom. May his reign be long, peaceful, and prosperous.”
