


Following the Federal Government declaration of Thursday, 19th and Friday, 20th March 2026 as public holidays for all Muslim Faithfuls in the country to celebrate Eid – el – fitri, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has deployed, two thousand, two hundred and fifty ( 2,250 ) officers and men to ensure adequate security and protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
The Lagos State Command made this proactive deployments to foil suspicious attacks often perpetrated by miscreants, hoodlums, shenanigans and unscrupulous criminal elements, who usually carry out despicable and dastardly acts to subvert the good efforts of the state during festive ceremonies or periods such as this .
The Command has also heavily deployed data – driven intelligence and robust operational strategy capable of yielding the needed peace and security before, during and after the celebration.
The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command , Mr Adedotun Keshinro disclosed, today, Wednesday, 18th March, 2026 that it is important to ensure speedy deployment of security personnel before, during and after the celebration because of the vehement importance attached to it as the period will also witness movements of large population of citizens, travellers and visitors from various states and country into Lagos.
He further stated that the operational strategies put in place in the command will also help to rid the state of criminal elements and eradicate the nefarious activities of vandals and other criminal elements that could be inimical to the economic growth and development of the state during and after the celebration.
The officers and men across all formations of the command have also been charged, to bring the right and appropriate impetus on board to protect all strategic locations, public and private assets and infrastructure, points, facilities, right of ways, oil pipeline installations, religious and worship centres, parks and gardens and more in the state.
The Lagos State Commandant further warned the officers and men deployed to be on red alert as they discharge their duties without fear or favour of any kind. He also charged them to remain professional, competent and respect the rights and privileges of the civil populace, in the course of carrying their duties, before, during and after the celebrations.
