Saturday the 27th of June was another grand braking of humanitarian gesture of Eze Amb. Chika Nwokedi ” The Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo area of Lagos state which over 200 widows, vulnerable Nigerians within the community will live to remember.
Mrs Anu Olumitayo an indigene of Osun state, resident of Ijegun/ Ijedodo area has been a beneficial for over five years. She proudly pronounced Eze Chika Nwokedi’s kind gesture as second to none . Madam Anu told the media” I was a widow years back; I met him via an Igbo neighbor who invited me to his widows outreach and empowerment; Eze twice in a year widows outreach keeps me and my children alive, I was also empowered with POS machine she concluded.
Mama Shakiru, a devasted widow was glad she heard the information; for her very first time at the outreach she was moved to tears as she was amazed of what she got. ” She said in Yoruba dialect” Opo( widow)Ā odun mefa ni mi, ike ragolis, Ike Omi ni mo n sa jeun pelu awon Omo mi, mo ya Owo moto wa ni paapaa, inu mi dun pupo fun awon orisi ounje ti mo ri.gba yi. Lagbara Olorun ebi ko ni pa Eze ati awon ebi won; Owo ko ni tan lowo won laelae Amin – Meaning ” I have been a widow for over six year, I depend upon plastic bottle water packages for living. I borrowed money to come,Ā I am glad that I do not miss this invitation, for the very first time I am glad with what I got, these food items will definitely go along way in feeding me and my children.Ā Eze Chika Nwokedi will never go hungry in his life”Amen!
Mrs Rita was also a beneficiary who implored other influential Nigerians to be there brothers, sisters keeper.
She said Eze Nwokedi is ever ready for anyone anytime regardless of your tribe. Eze Chika do not discriminate, his doors are open for the needy and you will leave his presence with smiles on your face.
Mrs Adunni Alabi a co-tenant of Eze Chika Nwokedi since 2013 could not but applauded Eze’s humanity act right from day one. Madam Alabi said she lost her husband in 2015 , ever since Eze Nwokedi has been supportive till date and God will continue to bless and uphold him for ever. Madam Alabi concluded by saying this in Yoruba language ” Anobi ( Prophet) kan ni Eze Chika , lati 2013 ti mo ti mo, bi o se maa n saanu niyi; Ina ko ni tan owo e laelae! Meaning ” Eze Chika is a Prophet on an assignment; when it comes to giving , helping the needy , since 2013 that I know him , he as not change. He will never lack good thing in his life.
High Chief Ibezim could not but thank God for Eze Chika Nwokedi’s choice of life style of taking care of the needy as he urges other Ezes to emulate Eze Nwokedi for givers never lack.
Eze Chika in his lengthy conversation with the media said it was a vow he made to God his creator as a volunteer labourer at CPM church manyĀ years back during his difficult period at Ladipo market that if God in his infinite mercy should make him rich ; he will definitely take care of the poor, the needy even those that maltreated him during his difficult timeĀ because he is a victim of poverty, he knows where the shoe punches.
