Friday the 8th of August 2025, HIM Oba Dr. Akinloye Iyanda Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin 1 ) remains was laid to rest after days of activities and Christian wake keep on Thursday the 7th.
As a devoted christian, Oba Olakulehin final farewell service was held at The Cathedral Church of St Peter Aremo, in Ibadan.
Words of exhortation was delivered by The very Rev. S.K Olawoyin .
In 1983, Oba Olakulehin became Mogaji for the Ige Olakulehin Family of Ita- Baale in Ibadan North- East Local government .
He was installed as the Jagun Olubadan by Oba Asanke in 1986, elevated to the Olubadan in Council in 2006 by Oba Ogundipe before the the position of Balogun of Ibadan in 2016.
Oba Owolabi Olakulehin was enthroned officially by Gov. Seyi Makinde as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan Land on July12th, 2024
Creme la creme in Nigeria politics, government officials, monarchs representatives, Oyo state Gov. Seyi Makinde, The Olubadan in council, mammoths of Ibadan sons and daughters, residents were in attendance to bid Oba Olakulehin farewell.
Oba Owolabi Olakulehin a retired major in Nigerian Army was given a state burial with full military honour in recognition of his service to the military and the nation.
Aged 90 years.
