

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has once again demonstrated its commitment to saving lives and ensuring safer highways following a serious road traffic crash that occurred at Alaro City, Epe–Ajah corridor, involving six vehicles, today.

The incident, which happened at about 1446hrs, was caused by a broken-down truck obstructing the bridge along Ajah road, resulting in a multiple-vehicle collision. A total of 15 persons (13 male, 2 female) were involved.
Though, no fatalities were recorded, one female sustained injuries and has since received been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
FRSC operatives from Corridor Command 13 and Epe Unit Command, in synergy with the Nigeria Police, arrived promptly to secure the scene, administer first aid, and manage traffic flow to prevent secondary crashes.
Tow trucks have been mobilized for the immediate removal of the obstruction.
The Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, while commending the swift response of the patrol team led by SRC Ande Apollo, cautioned motorists against excessive speeding and urged drivers to always exercise patience when approaching breakdowns or traffic obstructions.
He further reminded fleet operators and truck owners of their responsibility to ensure proper maintenance of vehicles before deployment on highways, stressing that broken-down trucks pose grave danger to other road users.
The FRSC assures the motoring public of its continued presence on the highways to ensure safety, free flow of traffic, and prompt rescue services when needed.
