

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Sector Command, has once again demonstrated its dedication to road safety through a prompt and collaborative response to a serious road traffic crash (RTC) involving two containerized trucks on the Apapa Wharf route near UBA Eleganza, six kilometers from Mile 2.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos State Command (FRSC) has again demonstrated its commitment to ensuring road safety and minimizing traffic disruptions following a road traffic crash (RTC) involving two containerized trucks on the Apapa-Wharf route near Flour Mill, six kilometers from Mile 2.
The incident, which occurred at 10:50 AM.
The crash, classified as a serious multiple-vehicle collision, was attributed to brake failure and speeding.
Four individuals, all males, were involved in the crash, with one sustaining injuries, including bruises and cuts. Thankfully, there were no fatalities.
The FRSC rescue team, led by RC OA Awojole with the assistance from Police, LASTMA, LSNC, worked on the crash and provided immediate assistance and ensured that efforts to clear the obstruction began without delay to ensure the injured victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The vehicles involved were identified as:
1. A red Mack truck (commercial category).
2. A green Mack truck (commercial category).
While no fatalities were recorded, the crash caused significant traffic disruption.
FRSC rescue team is actively working to remove the crashed vehicles and clear the obstruction to restore free traffic flow along this critical route.
In a statement addressing the incident, the Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, emphasized the importance of adhering to road safety regulations, particularly during the ember months, when road usage is high.
“As we approach the festive season, I appeal to all motorists and commuters to prioritize safety. Ensure your vehicles are in good mechanical condition, avoid speeding, and exercise patience while on the road.
The Sector Commander also urged road users to cooperate with traffic officers during ongoing clearance operations to avoid further delays.
