Recall that the activities of illegal operators, scavengers, thieves and vandals, in the scrap and waste industry have been recently, alarming and appalling across various places in the country.
It was based on the foregoing mentioned, above that the meeting between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command and the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Association of Nigeria became very necessary, in order to rid the state of such criminal activities.
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro received, Alhaji Ibrahim Soja, Acting National President and Comrade Adedotun Adewale, the Lagos State Chairman ( National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Association of Nigeria ) and other members of the Association, today, Thursday, 23rd January, 2025, in his office, in Alahusa, Ikeja.
The Lagos State Commandant was ably represented, at the meeting, by Deputy Commandant of Corps Agbetiloye Kolawole, Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department and was joined, by some senior officers of the command.
The meeting was necessary, to chat a new course that will put a halt to the menace and trending ugly sabotaging activities of these unscrupulous and unrepentant elements in our society.
To this end, the Command and the Association agreed to work in close – knit, identify challenges, provide possible and professional operational solutions, apprehend offenders and clinically, bring the menace to an end in the state.
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro also seized, the opportunity to avow that unrepentant vandals of our Critical National Assets and Infrastructure will not be tolerated or allowed to thrive, in Lagos State under our watch. This is because we will not rest on our oarse and we shall continue to collaborate with other sister agencies and relevant stakeholders of government and grassroot communities.
