In a bid to avert secondary collisions and guarantee the safety of other road users, traffic cones and cautionary safety devices were strategically positioned around the affected corridor while police operatives commenced proper documentation and investigative procedures relating to the unfortunate occurrence.

Furthermore, coordinated evacuation and recovery operations were immediately activated to facilitate the removal of the accidented vehicles and restore full operational normalcy along the bridge corridor.

Despite the gravity of the occurrence, traffic flow around the axis remained effectively managed owing to the proactive intervention, strategic traffic control mechanisms and operational efficiency demonstrated by LASTMA Officers deployed to the scene.

The General Manager of LASTMA Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki reiterated the urgent necessity for motorists to exercise maximum caution, maintain strict adherence to stipulated speed regulations and eschew all forms of reckless driving capable of endangering human lives and public safety.
