At the ongoing MEGA HORECA Exhibition 2025 which was declared open by the Lagos state First Lady Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the Lagos state Deputy Chief of staff wife at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) was fully represented.
The AFAN Lagos State Chairman, Alhaji Muftau Abiodun Oyelekan, expressed his excitement, highlighting the immense opportunities the exhibition has created for Nigerian farmers, particularly in terms of hospitality partnerships and networking.
Alhaji Oyelekan emphasized the valuable collaboration between farmers, hoteliers, restaurant owners, and international guests, describing it as an eye-opening business forum. He noted that the networking has been highly beneficial, especially since many of the food products showcased at the exhibition were sourced directly from farms. Consumers who understand the health benefits of farm-fresh foods have been eager to purchase them.
One of the standout farm products at the exhibition was fresh coconut water, which Alhaji Oyelekan described as an energy booster and strength enhancer, available at an affordable price to guests. He reiterated AFAN’s commitment to serving humanity through fresh, healthy foods, expressing hope that more Nigerian farmers would participate in future editions of the Mega Hospitalisation Exhibition.
The National Women Leader of AFAN, Mrs. Olaoti ShodiyaAde, also shared her excitement, stating that the first day of the exhibition was highly encouraging, with people trooping in to connect and explore farm-fresh products. She affirmed that hospitality and agriculture are inseparable, as fresh farm produce is essential for quality food and nutrition.
In conclusion, Alhaji Oyelekan reminded participants and Nigerians of the critical role of farmers in nation-building, echoing AFAN’s slogan:
“Great Farmers, Great Nation. No Farmer, No Food. No Food, No Life. No Life, No Nation!”
