At the ongoing Mega HORACE Hospitalisation Exhibition which was declared open by the Lagos state First Lady Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the wife of Lagos state Deputy Chief of staff at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, Mr. Razak Oke, representing the National President of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), urged participants to engage in meaningful networking to foster effective business partnerships.
The National Assistant Secretary also emphasized the importance of food safety in Nigeria, reaffirming that ensuring safe and quality food consumption remains a top priority for NIFST.
Speaking on the institute’s role, Mr. Oke stated:
“NIFST has been the recognized professional body representing Food Scientists and Technologists in Nigeria since 1976. Our vision is to ensure good quality, affordable, and abundant food for all, contributing to food security and the well-being of Nigerians and beyond. Our objectives include promoting the development and application of food science and technology in all aspects of food production and consumption.”
He highlighted NIFST’s efforts in knowledge dissemination, including sponsoring research, organizing workshops, seminars, and symposia that address food-related challenges, government policies, and industry advancements. He also underscored NIFST’s role as a trusted advisory body collaborating with national and international organizations, the food industry, and academic institutions.
In conclusion, Mr. Razak Oke wished all participants a productive networking experience, emphasizing that learning and unlearning are key aspects of the exhibition.
