The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Akintunde, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the New Year, urging citizens to remain optimistic and assuring them that 2026 holds significant prospects for shared prosperity.

In his New Year message, Senator Akintunde expressed confidence that Nigerians who remain positively inclined and proactive will benefit immensely from the ongoing economic repositioning agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The statement, released to the media through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, commended Nigerians for their resilience, patience, and cooperation in the face of recent economic challenges. The Senator noted that clear indicators now point to economic recovery, presenting both individual and collective opportunities for growth and advancement.

“I have always encouraged our people to maintain a positive mindset. As we enter the New Year 2026 with renewed enthusiasm, I am confident that the promise of better days ahead, as articulated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presentation of the Appropriation Bills, will translate into tangible opportunities for Nigerians,” he stated.

Senator Akintunde affirmed that the nation has moved beyond periods of despair, uncertainty, and pessimism, stressing that the various reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration are already yielding positive results.

He saluted the courage and endurance of Nigerians during what he described as painful but necessary transitional times, assuring citizens that such sacrifices are now giving way to the dividends of Renewed Hope and shared prosperity.

The Senator also expressed deep appreciation to the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District for their continued support, reaffirming his commitment to quality representation, empowerment initiatives, and people-oriented legislation.

“I assure my constituents, the good people of Oyo State, and Nigerians at large of my unwavering commitment to excellent representation and to doing more to empower our people,” he said.

Senator Akintunde called on Nigerians to remain optimistic, determined, and committed to the values of enterprise, integrity, quality service delivery, love, communal integration, and sincerity of purpose.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year.

Senator Yunus Akintunde currently serves as the Chairman, Senate Committee on the South West Development Commission, among other committees of the Nigerian Senate.
