The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr Yunus Akintunde has admonished Nigerians to expect rewarding times in years ahead for the pains experienced in the repositioning agenda of the present President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.

In his good will message made available to the media by Kunle Olatunji, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity as the nation marks her 64th Independence Day celeberation, Senator Akintunde expressed optimism that soon, the benefits of the focus of the present administration on repositioning the economy will begin to reflect with positive impact in the quality of lives of the citizenry.

” On this special occasion of our 64th Independence Day celeberation, I rejoice with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our various leaders in different capacities and the entire people of Nigeria, while joining in our prayers for the prosperity and progress of our Nation Nigeria in years ahead”

“I must also sincerely empathize with the entire citizenry on the reality of our current situation as a Nation, no doubt, life is tough for everyone, but unknown to many people and quite difficult to explain it, we are all in this together as a nation without exception, however with optimism and expectations for sustained improvement in years ahead”.

“As a stakeholder in the polity, I can affirm that the leadership is not unaware of the tough challenges the policies designed towards revamping and repositioning the economy placed on the citizenry in recent times, rather all arms and spheres of government are collectively committed to ensure that those tough times are over with as soon as possible and succour with sustainable solutions are put in place to reduce the pains of the citizenry without further delay”.

“In retrospect, we are committed to returning back on the great times of quality living standards, clean environment, first class infrastructure and enhanced capacity as an emerging economy with expectations towards capacity for rapid development”.

“I am quite optimistic about our capacity as a people to collectively drive our Nation to prosperity, let us continue to engage in dialogue, constructively demand for accountability and commitment from the leadership at all levels, while also as citizens, we should contribute our own efforts towards true Nation building in our respective engagements”.

“The sacrifices of our heroes past and ours presently will soon begin to yield desired expectations in years ahead and a careful assessment of the emerging trends in the policy designs of this administration are reliable pointers to such optimistic expectations”.

“As a committed lawmaker and leader along with my esteemed colleagues, I can always assure that we will continue to improve on quality representation in leadership which is our focus in service delivery to our people at all times, never to betray the trust and confidence on our pledge to serve and make Nigeria a great Nation indeed”.

Dr Yunus Akintunde is the Chairman House Committee on Environment at the Senate in the National Assembly.
