A popular cleric, Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello has urged Muslims all over the world to imbibe the lessons learnt during the ongoing Ramadan in order to seek the face and forgiveness of Almigthy Allah even after the end of the Holy Month.

Sheik Bello who stated this while delivering a lecture at the annual Ramadan lecture of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC New Era, Oluyole Local Government, urged all Muslims all over the world to use the lessons of Ramadan in their day to day activities.

According to Sheik Bello, Ramadan period is characterised by total submission to God, self denial as well as abstinence from sin and other vices.

He however stressed the need for every Muslim to sustain the abstinence from sins and other vices while upholding the teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammed.

In his words: “Steadfastness and total submission to Allah will make society habitable to all and devoid of war, hostility, rancor, poverty and other calamities.”

He added: “We should continue to show love, forgiveness and respect to one another while the lessons of the Ramadan must reflect in our daily lives.”

He commended the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC New Era, under the Chairman of Comrade Bashir Kolawole in Oluyole Local Government for deeming it to organise such yearly lectures.

“I was thinking that coming here today would be for exhibition of charms but I’m surprised that OPC can organise this kind of a peaceful Ramadan lecture devoid of any vices. May Almighty be with you all.”

While speaking to journalists after the program, the National Publicity Secretary who doubles as the highest ranking officer in the State, Comrade Adesina Akinpelu said that the essence of organising the annual Ramadan lecture is to showcase that OPC is for everyone irrespective of all religious beliefs.

“Contrary to what some people think. OPC is not against any religion. We have members who are Christians, Muslim and traditional religion worshippers. There is no discrimination whatsoever in OPC.”

Comrade Akinpelu who commended all militant groups, Yoruba self-determination groups who attended the event in their large numbers assured them that the era of molestation and killing one another has gone.”

“As I’m talking to you today, I’m championing a cause that will prevent shedding of innocent blood in Yorubaland and beyond. Whatever group or association you’re; I Comrade Adesina Akinpelu will fight for ur legitimate right under the ambits of the law of the land. Gone are the days where we ignorantly kill ourselves under the guise of group or association. Some of us who have witnessed such era are now coming together to resist and prevent shedding of innocent blood under any guise. Anyone who shed innocent blood in Yorubaland will die prematurely.

Also speaking, the organiser who is also a state executive member of Oodua Peoples Congress and Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Comrade Bashir Kolawole said that the Ramadan lecture has become a yearly programme of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC New Era.

According to him, he and his members at Oluyole Local Government will continue to give back to the society in a positive way.

“We thank God for the successful hosting of this year’s Ramadan lecture and awards presentation. The large turn outs of this year’s programme is something we are happy about and will continue to do our best to improve.”

Comrade Kolawole who used the occasion to thank and appreciate all Yoruba militants and self-determination groups who attended in their large numbers, said they will all work together to bring peace and development to Yorubaland.

The event also had in attendance many self-determination Yoruba groups that include OPC Fasheun, Agbekoya Solidarity, I.Y.F, LLVG, Agbekoya farmers, FYCC, Soludero, OPC Gani Adam, Ifenisese, O.S.V.G, Ekun Oodua, Agbekoya Peace and Unity. Agbekoya Warrior, Kobolese, I.R.O.D, O.L.M and others

Also, the event witnessed presentation of awards to HON. TOLULOPE SADIPE AKANDE MEMBER FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OLUYOLE CONSTITUENCY, HON. OLUMIDE AKINLADE S.A TO GOVENOR SEYI MAKINDE, COMRADE CHIEF SUNDAY ADEYEMO A.K.A IGBOHO AND HON. MARUFF ADEBAYO A.K.A ELELUBO.
