Former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has suggested that the late former qSuper Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, should be immortalised.
According to Eguavoen, Rufai, who had been unwell before his passing, was an icon of Nigerian football.
Rufai died on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, Eguavoen, who was once a teammate of Rufai, said: “I was driving, I was on the highway back from the office to the house when the news came.
“He should be immortalised, Dodo is an icon. A stadium or statue should be erected somewhere, it won’t be too much.
“From the information we got, he was quite ill, if he spoke out and requested for N100 million, I don’t think Nigerians would be silent.
“One or two persons would have raised the money. It’s quite unfortunate! Eguavoen concluded.
