A devastating story has unfolded as security forces in both Anambra and Delta states have arrested a suspect connected to the kidnapping and murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly. The suspect, who was attempting to flee Asaba, was shot in the leg and apprehended.
Hon. Justice Azuka was tragically abducted, and his bank account was drained of ₦100 million before his life was violently taken. Authorities have confirmed that he was shot twice in the head on December 26, 2024.
As investigations progressed, it was revealed that a nurse living in Asaba had helped the criminals withdraw the funds. Shockingly, a native doctor based in Asaba is preparing charms for the gang, and the gang leader was even found living inside the native doctor’s shrine.
All six members of the gang, all of whom are under the age of 30, have been arrested. The nurse has also been detained, and her pharmacy has been sealed. The native doctor has been taken into custody as well.
Five suspects were based in Asaba, while one lived in Oba, Anambra state. Tragically, during the investigation, the bodies of three other victims were discovered alongside Hon. Justice Azuka’s remains.
The suspects have confessed to regularly killing their victims after extorting them. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scope of this crime and ensure justice is served.
