The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of The Commissioner of Police; CP ABAYOMI Peter Oladipo is set to commence an in house exercise on weapon handling for police officers in the State.
The training which is expected to kick off on Monday 13th May, 2024 at the 17PMF Squadron training ground, Owode in Akure is aimed at equipping officers and men in the command for efficient and effective policing.
It is pertinent to state that the Police command in collaboration with Rule of Law and Enforcement Initiatives aka ( Partners West Africa Nigeria) has just concluded a 4 day training for personnel attached to Police Crime Branch on the provisions of Administration of Crimimal Justice Law (ACJL) in the state.
The general public, most especially residents of the area are notified of the use of Tear gas and frequent gun sounds that may be heard during this period at the Shooting Range ( Shasha Area) during the training ; dwellers in this vicinity are enjoined not to panic at the sound of gunshots as all necessary safety measures has been put in place for the successful conduct of the exercise.
In the same vein, the command is using this medium to advise the general public to avoid trespassing in to the area earmarked for this exercise throughout the programe while assuring the people of Ondo state adequate security at all times.
