In a vibrant display of Yoruba culture and tradition, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was yesterday the 7th of December, 2025 bestowed with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Yeye Asiwaju of Oodua (Yeye Asiwaju gbogbo omo Oodua) at a grand ceremony held in Ile-Ife, the ancient cradle of the Yoruba race.
The historic event, which saw an unprecedented gathering of governors’ wives from across the nation, underscored the First Lady’s commitment to national unity and cultural heritage.
The revered Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, personally conferred the title upon Senator Tinubu, recognizing her as a unifying figure and a champion of the Yoruba people.
