Honourable Stella Foluke Osafile, the House of Assembly Member representing Amuwo – Odofin nods NSCDC Lagos State Command for driving community ownership of assets and infrastructure in Lagos.


The protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), which encompass the oil and gas, transportation, power and energy, telecommunications, education, health sectors et ce tera remain one of the core statutory mandates of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ) amongst many others.
It is in the light of the above that the State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command Mr Adedotun Keshinro commended the Area H command which comprises the following Divisional Offices; Amuwo, Oriade, Ijegun, Irewe, Ikotun and Alimosho for hosting its stakeholders community engagement in Festac town yesterday, Tuesday, 24th February, 2026.
The Amuwo, Oriade, Ijegun, Irewe, Ikotun and Alimosho Divisional Offices of the command seized the directive of the Lagos State Commandant as a veritable opportunity to host a very important but apt community engagement with relevant stakeholders earlier yesterday, Tuesday, at the Rockview Hotel, Festac .
According to the Lagos State Commandant, who was ably represented by the Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department, Deputy Commandant of Corps Kolawole Agbetiloye, “community engagements with stakeholders such as this aim to bring the campaigns against vandalism, illegal dredging, illegal mining activities, illegal scrap dealings amongst others close to the people at the grassroots.
While addressing stakeholders drawn from the aforementioned five ( 5 ) Divisions yesterday, the Lagos State Commandant further tasked the traditional leaders, community leaders, youths, market leaders, religious leaders, security agencies, telecommunications corporations, electricity distribution companies, local security networks and all others to join forces with the Corps in safeguarding those assets and infrastructure that underpin the safety, stability and economic well being of our dear state.
The Lagos State Commandant charged all stakeholders in attendance to report suspected cases of vandalism being carried out by miscreants, hoodlums and all forms of unscrupulous elements in their communities to the offices of the NSCDC closer to them in the state or through the emergency numbers of the state; 112, 767 and the public relations unit of the command; +2348163597310.
The Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government Area, Honourable Akinpelu Ibrahim was ably represented by his Chief Security Officer, Mr Daniel Nwagboe, at the event yesterday. He commended the initiative led by the NSCDC in Lagos to create such platforms where security issues can be discussed. He affirmed the Chairman’s commitment towards ensuring the protection of assets and infrastructure in Amuwo and it’s environs. He charged the members of the Corps in the five Divisions under Area H Command, to continue this laudable advocacy and they can be rest assured of the support of the Executive Chairman in ensuring the provision of logistical needs that will aid them to fulfilling their mandates effectively.

Honourable Stella Foluke Osafile seized the opportunity to promise immediate intervention towards the provision of offices and logistics for the NSCDC in Area H Command . She described the engagement as a laudable one worthy of bringing lasting solutions to the issues of vandalism in her constituency and its environs.
The Representative of the Zonal Manager, Federal Housing Authority ( FHA ), Mr Ameh Jacob assured the NSCDC of the Authority’s resolve to continue to support the NSCDC in the fulfillment of his mandates in their own Area of Responsibilities. However, he charged the Divisions under the Area H Command to continue to sustain this initiative in a bid to drive more operational response and feedback mechanisms amidst others . He also affirmed continuous support .
The Officer from Eko Electric Distribution Company, Mrs Onuoha Ifeoma, one of the guests at the event also condemned all forms of vandalism of assets and infrastructure in all its ramifications. She seized the opportunity to charge stakeholders to take the protection of critical assets and infrastructure very seriously in their communities. She further said that her organization has confidence in the NSCDC, therefore, she called on Nigerians to support the Corps by releasing information connected to theft and vandalism of telecommunication ( fiber optic cables ), transformers, masts and others for adequate investigation and prosecution.
All stakeholders resolve at the event today, to take responsibility towards the collective protection of CNAI in their communities. They resolve to protect manholes, fiber optics, rail sleepers, power installations, telecommunications and all others from untoward attack by vandals, shenanigans, miscreants and all unscrupulous elements in their communities moving forward.
The representative of the National Youth Council of Nigeria at the event also affirmed the youths’ commitment towards supporting the Corps in achieving its mandate of adequate protection of CNAI in the state. He assures the Corps that he will take the message back home to his constituents to drive formidable youth participation in community engagements.
The Scrap Dealer Association members were also represented and they seized the opportunity to explain their immense contributions to the socio – economic development of their communities by providing jobs for their members to reduce crime rate. However, they resolved from the engagement to assist the NSCDC and all other agencies of government to report all forms of non – compliance by erring members to protect the integrity of their business.
The Area Commander, Area H Command, Assistant Commandant of Corps Bankole Ayodele and the Divisional Officers of Area H Command were also present to engage stakeholders in interactive sessions at the event.
The event drew goodwill messages from the representatives of the Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, DSS, Federal Road Safety Corps, FHA, Festac Town Residents Association, KAI, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Scrap Dealers Association, EKEDC, National Youth Council of Nigeria, PCRC, Community Development Associations, National Union of Road Transport Workers ( NURTW ) et ce tera.
