Our attention has been drawn to a photo circulating online that has caused confusion regarding the identity of the individual who assaulted an FRSC officer on duty.
To set the record straight:
• The individual behind the bar in the photo is the offender who assaulted the FRSC staff.
• The person directly in front of her, taking the details of the case, is a police officer carrying out her lawful duty of documenting the incident.
The police officer is in no way involved in the offense but is assisting in ensuring justice is served.
We urge the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and to allow the law to take its course. FRSC remains committed to ensuring the safety and respect of its personnel as they diligently carry out their duties.
We deeply regret any misunderstanding the image might have caused and sincerely apologize to the Nigeria Police Force for any misrepresentation. The FRSC and NPF remain committed to their collaborative efforts to uphold the rule of law and ensure public safety.
We urge citizens to avoid jumping to conclusions and seek clarification when in doubt.
