The Special Correctional Centre for boys situated in Oregun, in the heart of the Capital of Lagos State in keja on Saturday, 28th February, 2026 led by Mr Bashir Iyakpo received the presence of the Public Relations Officer ( PRO ) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, his family, guests, friends and well wishers.
The Lagos Civil Defence PRO and his team seized the visitation to the centre to felicitate, renew hopes, share knowledge about the consequences of crime and expectations of best behaviors from the children after they get their freedom eventually .
The Director General of the Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies of Nigeria, Dr Adekunle Aderemi ably represented by his daughter Favour Adekunle presented a captivating speech at the event targeted towards the renewal of the hope of the children at the centre. Ms Favour made it clear to the boys at the event that freedom doesn’t guarantee purpose. She further said that one can find purpose in any environment including the correctional centre for boys and that may ignite the dramatic turnaround of such individual as it were.
Ms Favour also presented gifts to the boys at the centre to mark the birthday of the Lagos Civil Defence PRO with the boys.
It was a gathering of purpose and time of refreshing as speeches, goodwill messages, prayers, praises and worship poured in from guests and friends to make the PRO’s birthday remarkable.
The Civil Defence PRO also seized the opportunity to appreciate all well wishers, friends and guests who graced the event, which he themed; “ministry without building, humanity without party. He charged birthday celebrants to look in the direction of inmates, orphans and the abandoned in the society when planning such celebrations to renew the hope of the hopeless amidst other benefits for the society .
Present at the event also were the PRO’s family, elder brother, DSC Oluwaseyitan Abolurin and family, the CSO Tetracore, Mr Remi, Evangelist Ronke Ayodeji, DSC Olufemi Thomas , Abbas studio, Master Alhaj and many others.
