Madam Folasade Ojubuyi, the mother of Hon. Bright Ojubuyi, the Coordinator of the Federation of Ondo State Indigenes in Abuja (FEDOSIA), passed on.

The death was confirmed by her eldest son, Hon. Ojubuyi, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the deceased passed on at UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure 4.30pm, Tuesday, after a brief illness attributed to her age. “Mama was 86 years old.”

The statement read: “My mother, Madam Folasade Ojubuyi (née Ofoesuwa), was born on 15th September 1938 at Ode Mahin to the family of Pa Misreal Ofoesuwa and Mrs. Ojuetimi Ofoesuwa (née Ikuedogho) from the Alagho royal family in Odonla, all in Ilaje Local Government, Ondo State.

“She got married to Senior Leader A.O. Ojubuyi, an Apostle of the King of Zion Saint Elisha Lene Ogunfeyimi, Atarioye Ajigbade of Ugbonla, in 1958, with the blessings of their parents.

“Until her death, Madam Folasade Ojubuyi was a devoted Christian and was later ordained Ayaba Esther by the great prophet on 28th December 1971, in recognition of her dedication to the service of God and humanity.

“Mama was blessed with four children: Mrs Abiodun Abiwo, Mr Adele Ojubuyi, Mrs Joke Olukayode, and her eldest son, Hon. Bright Ojubuyi, the Coordinator of FEDOSIA and a senior staff member with the Ministry of Regional Development in Abuja.” He revealed.

Ojubuyi noted that the deceased, during her lifetime, was an epitome of kindness, forthrightness and courage, the same qualities which her husband, Senior Leader Ojubuyi, exhibited when alive.

He said the late Madam Folasade was a rallying point for the Ojubuyi family following the departure of their patriarch many years ago and did not waiver in standing in the gap for them till she breathed her last.

The Coordinator of FEDOSIA emphasized that while Madam Ojubuyi lived to a venerable age, her passing leaves a significant void for her children and close associates who often sought her prayers and wise counsel.

“Mama will be remembered for her caring heart and as a true mother who defended truth and her children. She was a hardworking woman, a lover of peace, and a generous giver. Often, she shared what little the family had with anyone who came seeking assistance, especially students.

“Further announcements will be made by the family in due course,” Ojubuyi concluded.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.
