The Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, Hon. Kunle Olatunji KTJ, has felicitated with the President and Founder of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Archbishop Wale Oke, on the occasion of his 70th birthday and his recent elevation and ordination as an Archbishop.
Olatunji, who attended the Night of Tribute organised as part of the week-long activities marking the Annual Convention of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, joined other dignitaries, associates and admirers in celebrating the life, ministry and remarkable contributions of Archbishop Wale Oke to Christianity, leadership development and nation building.
In his tribute, Olatunji described Archbishop Wale Oke as an exceptional servant of God, an exemplary leader and a mentor whose influence has transcended generations, producing men and women of outstanding accomplishments in various fields of human endeavour.
He noted that Archbishop Wale Oke has demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment to the development of people from his early years, including his days as a student-teacher at Wesley College, Elekuro, Ibadan. He recalled the testimonies of many beneficiaries of the Archbishop’s mentorship, describing him as a caring, loving, dedicated and inspirational Minister of God.
Olatunji observed the remarkable connection between his own educational journey and that of the Archbishop. He attended Wesley College Practising School, the demonstration arm of Wesley College, Elekuro, for his primary education during the period Archbishop Wale Oke was at the College.
He further noted that both of them later studied at different times at the University of Lagos, with Archbishop Wale Oke much earlier studying Surveying in the Faculty of Engineering, while he himself studied Geography and Planning at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Olatunji also recalled his active involvement in the Lagos Varsity Christian Union, where Archbishop Wale Oke served as its pioneer and longest-serving President, having served two terms, and currently remains its Patron.
According to Olatunji, the Archbishop’s influence extends beyond the pulpit, particularly through his consistent advocacy for responsible leadership, good governance and active participation of the younger generation in nation building.
He commended Archbishop Wale Oke, who is also the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), for continuously encouraging young Nigerians to move beyond complaints and political apathy and become active participants in the development and transformation of the nation.
Olatunji stated:
“I have enjoyed the rare privilege of direct engagement, mentorship and impartation through Baba Archbishop Wale Oke, a truly inspiring, pragmatic and visionary leader and a mentor worthy of emulation. His life and ministry represent a remarkable testimony of faith, service, leadership and commitment to humanity.”
He prayed Almighty God to grant the Archbishop many more years of impactful service in excellent health, wisdom, strength and prosperity, describing his 70th birthday as a significant milestone celebrating the life of a rare blessing to humanity.
Olatunji therefore congratulated Archbishop Wale Oke on his 70th birthday and elevation to the office of Archbishop, praying that his ministry and legacy will continue to flourish and positively impact generations to come.
