A famous Nigerian activist and founder of the Ambassadors of Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF), Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, has taken to the streets of Lagos to continue his advocacy as the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.
Known for his relentless activism, Comrade Saviour has once again clamored for the dividends of democracy after 25 years, highlighting the severe economic conditions hitting Nigerians and resulting in widespread starvation and untimely deaths.
In his recent demonstration, Comrade Iche called attention to the high cost of food, displaying essential items that have become unaffordable for ordinary Nigerians. He showcased various foodstuffs, including perishable vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, and onions, as well as non-perishables and household items like detergents, emphasizing their inaccessibility to the masses.
Comrade Prince Saviour Iche expressed deep empathy as he protested against the high prices and the resultant starvation. He criticized the selfish and dubious actions of representatives in the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly, blaming them for dashing the hopes of the people who voted for a renewed hope.
The activist made it clear that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the problem but pointed to his cabinet members and governors who are less concerned about the citizens’ plight. He urged President Tinubu to separate the chaff from the wheat within his government by reshuffling his cabinet to fulfill the promised Renewed Hope Agenda.
During the protest, Comrade Iche, who is currently on a hunger strike, lamented the severe hardship that has made it difficult for most Nigerians to afford even one square meal per day. He called for immediate and drastic changes to alleviate the economic hardship and starvation affecting the Nigerian masses.
