Ijebu-Ode, December 19, 2024 – History was made at the Aafin Awujale of Ijebuland as Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel delivered a compelling memorandum advocating for the creation of a new Ijebu State from the present Ogun State. The event, hosted by Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) S.K. Adetona, GCON, Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, brought together notable dignitaries, including Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and other key stakeholders.
In his well-researched presentation, Senator Daniel outlined the economic, human, and material resources that position the old Ijebu Province as a viable and self-sustaining entity. His memorandum, described by the Awujale as “detailed and beautiful,” emphasized unity and collaboration among the Ijebu and Remo people. He also underscored the significance of the ongoing legislative process, with the National Assembly’s progress on the bill being a beacon of hope for the realization of Ijebu State.
