Electoral Act: Is Primate Ayodele’s Prophecy On National Protest Coming To Pass?

About three weeks ago, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele warned that there will be a national protest coming up in Nigeria.

He mentioned then that the protest will start gradually and will not be taken seriously by President Tinubu’s government till it becomes big.

According to him, the protest, if not well handled, can shut down the economy for a while.

Although, Primate Ayodele didn’t mention what would lead to the protest, but he mentioned that it the spark can start in five states across the country before it spreads widely.

These were his words

“It’s going to be a massive protest, and it will start with five states. This is still part of the strategies to unseat the president if he isn’t careful. It’s a protest that can shut down the economy; the president shouldn’t take this for granted.”

“The protest will start gradually, but the government will not take it seriously. Certain things will cause protest, that’s why the president must listen to the security, especially the DSS, because it will help him a lot.

“Some of the heads of government are plotting against the current administration in order to destabilise it.”

Election: Massive Protest Will Start In Five States To Destabilize You – Primate Ayodele To Tinubu

Three weeks after Primate Ayodele gave this prophetic warning to the government, it appears a protest is already building up, involving some top opposition politicians who are standing against the Nigerian senate over the reported rejection of the electoral act, which mandates electronic transmission of results.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, on Monday led a group of protesters to the National Assembly, demanding the inclusion of mandatory electronic transmission of results in Nigeria’s Electoral Act amendment.

The protesters gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly to express their grievances over the removal of clauses mandating the electronic transmission of election results.

They carried placards with inscriptions such as: “Akpabio don’t destroy our democracy,” “Say no to electoral fraud,” “Akpabio don’t dare the masses,” “stop betrayal of the ballot,” “The Senate must prioritise citizens over politics,” “The conference committee must protect the integrity of Nigeria’s electronic.”

Furthermore, Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state and ex-minister of transportation, joined protesters in Abuja on Tuesday as demonstrations over the Senate’s rejection of mandatory electronic transmission of election results entered a second day.

While this is still happening within Abuja, there are indications that it could spread to other states across the country if care isn’t taken. Will Primate Ayodele’s prophecy on the massive protest come to pass? Let’s keep fingers crossed.
