

Lagos State Command says it remains resolute to protect the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ) situated in all the nooks and crannies of our communities.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Area A Command held its community engagement on protection of critical national assets and infrastructure with all relevant stakeholders from the Area Command earlier today, Tuesday, 10th February, 2026.
The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command Mr Adedotun Keshinro affirmed that the community engagement held at the Agege Local Government Secretariat Hall, today, Tuesday by the Divisions under the Area A Command such as; Agege, Agbado Oke – Odo, Ayobo – Ipaja, Ifako – Ijaye, Ojokoro ouldn’t have come at a better time other than now.
The Lagos State Commandant was ably represented at the event by the Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department, Deputy Commandant of Corps Kolawole Agbetiloye.
The Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department, Deputy Commandant of Corps Kolawole Agbetiloye commended the stakeholders of Agege, Agbado Oke – Odo, Ayobo – Ipaja, Ifako – Ijaye, Ojokoro for joining forces with the Corps to end the wicked activities of economic saboteurs with the area.
The Head of CNAI in Lagos State Command also seized the opportunity to charge the scrap dealers association in the communities to comply with restricting their activities between 08:00am ( morning ) to 05:00pm ( evening ).
The Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area Honourable Abdulganiyu Vinod Obada was present at the event. While delivering his goodwill message the Executive Chairman commended the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Adedotun Keshinro for sustaining strong collaboration with his administration in ensuring the activities of scrap dealers association are regulated in his LGA. He also raised hope that this partnership has largely resulted into the low incidence of cases of assets and infrastructure vandalism in Agege and it’s environs.
The Executive Chairman of Agege gave his nod for the initiative which brought a lot of stakeholders together to have very apt conversations around how the road projects, street lights and other security assets infrastructure that his administration has put in place within a very short time will be effectively protected.
The Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke – Odo Local Council Development Area, Honourable Jimoh Ishola Ejigbadero ably represented by Honourable Oriade Saheed Ademola seized the privilege to also charge members of the public to continue to support the NSCDC, Lagos State Command so that it will continue to deliver on its core mandates.
During the interactive session Honourable Oriade Saheed Ademola called out the scrap dealers association on issues bothering their business relationship with scavengers in the communities. He pointed out that the real problems are the scavengers, who many atimes vandalize assets and infrastructure and as such their seek purchase from unsuspecting legitimate buyers and scrap dealers in the communities.
The representative of the National Orientation Agency, Assistant Director, Mrs Ani Chiamaka while giving her contributions at the meeting called for the support of the Corps in reducing vandalism of assets to the lowest minimum. She commended the command also for its efforts towards ensuring that miscreants don’t deny operators access to sites where they need to work on the field amongst others. However, she clearly stated that much more need to be done collectively by carrying more stakeholders along to enjoy the needed protection the assets deserve.
The youths are also represented today, at the event today oweing to the large population and of youths in the LGA. They have also helped in safeguarding the projects constructed by this administration through the crime fighters .
The Chairman Scrap Dealer Employer Association of Nigeria ably represented by Comrade Ahmed Idris made it known that all measures are being put in place by their executives to ensure compliance with government rules and extant laws guiding their operations.
The Area Commander, Area A Command, Assistant Commandant of Corps Olusola Oni and the Divisional Officers under him reiterated their resolve to fight vandalism head on and bring culprits to book in their Area of Responsibilities ( AoRs ).
The event drew goodwill messages from the Executive Chairman of Agege LGA and the representative of the Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke – Odo, Nigeria Police Force, DSS, Federal Road Safety Corps, Christian Association of Nigeria, Scrap Dealers Association, Neighbourhood Corps , National Youth Council of Nigeria , NOA Joint Task Force , Community Development Associations and Committees, Iya loja, et ce tera.
